It was close, puppers.  It was really, REALLY close.  But, in the end, I WAS GOOD!!!!

I had toys and bags and paper EVERYWHERE.  I was in HEAVEN!

Pictured below is the gift bag bigger than me which my dad gave me.  It was stuffed with paper and treats.  IT. WAS. AWESOME.

Hope you had a great one too, puppers!

I'm no fool

It's all about scale puppers.

I spend a lot of time at puppy camp.  I play with the big dogs on Fridays (you might recall that I got kicked out of tiny tots, but that is not a very NICE story, so we will save it for after Santa comes...), I sometimes do some overnighters there, and my fur stealer works there too.

So it seemed to me to be a good idea to give them a really good present.  A present bigger than me, if you will.

This was a very NICE thing of me to do (ahem, Santa ...) plus it will probably get me an upgrade to a Suite on my next overnighter, and the fur stealer may give me a massage while she does my blow dry.  One can only hope ...

Sorry, but I've been busy

Usually when we haven't been blogging, I blame it on Mom.  But this time, it's been my fault.  As you can see, I have been very busy around here snoopervising Christmas. Ay yi yi, so much to do!  Shopping for Bobo's present, getting my cards out, buying a little something for Dad, being so NICE all the time.  The list never ends!

I know what you're thinking, but the truth is, Mom took this picture during the one nanosecond that I took a little rest break.

Really.

Paws to enjoy the season, puppers!

(Get it, paws, pause ... copied from a Christmas Card we saw.  Can't claim this one, puppers.)

W is for Wordless Wednesday

Pssst ... puppers, are you there?  I know it is Wordless Wednesday, but are you reading anyway?  Look closely because this is important.

Tomorrow is a big day.  It is going to involve lots of food.  Here are a few things you need to know.  First, suck in your cheeks and don't drink a lot of tummy bloating water with your breakfast.  You want to appear hungry today so any visitors who don't know better will feed you under the table.

Also, if there are little people visiting, remember that they are both good news and bad news.  Watch your tail -- they can be little tail yankers.   On the flip side, they are also little food droppers.  Hang near the kids' table -- this move will significantly increase your odds of getting to participate in the holiday meal, if you know what I mean.  Wait for the drop -- jumping on the table is bad form.

Lastly, not all food is good.  Do not go for the wish bone no matter what anybody says.  It's good luck for people and bad luck for puppers.  Stay away from bones.

Now go do what I am doing and rest up for the big day.

Good luck, puppers, good luck!

F is for Family

Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy, puppers.  This is a big one.

I am really, really grateful for my family.  I know that sometimes I like to totally harass kid around about my mom on here sometimes, but really, the old girl she takes pretty good care of me.  And my dad takes really, REALLY good care of me.  (Sorry for being partial to him mom, it's a guy thing.)

There's a lot of things I can't do for myself, like drive myself to Friday puppy camp, cook my dinner,  send presents to my girlfriend, etc. that my mom and dad take care of for me unconditionally most of the time

THANK YOU to all of you, immediate family, extended family, and just like family, for loving me like you do!

G is for grateful!

My mom and I spent a lot of time together this weekend doing VERY important stuff like shopping for Bobo's Christmas pressie for the gift exchange.  While we were out and about having so much fun together, it dawned on me how lucky I am.  And how maybe sometimes I forget to appreciate that.

Mom said this week is always a good reminder to practice gratitude.  So let me start the week off by saying thanks for being my furiend.  It means a lot to me and my mom that you stop by to see us.  We appreciate you!

Signed,

Lucky D

Finding Fall

Yesterday my mom sprung out of bed and nearly crushed me doing that by the way and said "Come On Duncan, we are going on an adventure."

I, of course, was thrilled.  I hurried up and ate my breakfast, did my business, and hopped in the car.

Where are we going mom?, I asked.

We, dear pupper, are going to find Fall, said my mom.

I, of course, think of falling as a bad thing, but sometimes the old girl surprises me so I held my tongue.

Sure enough, we ended up in a huge giant great big awesome park.

Woot Woot!!!

Shown below are some of the other visitors we met while we were there.  I must say, I was on my very best behavior and did not bark at any of the other dogs there (I know, shocker!) but I was not really too sure what to think of these other creatures ....

In the end I decided that ignoring them was probably the right way to go.  When in doubt, don't run and shout!  Yes, it took me 4 years to learn that.

In between running and sniffing and being on my bestest behavior (Santa, did you hear that??) I played in the leaves.  It was a pretty great adventure even if only my mom was there and not my dad too.

Come on, Thanksgiving.  We're ready!!

Finally, something to blog about!

The other day I finally, FINALLY had an adventure worth blogging about.

It's been a LONG TIME COMING, don't you think?
The drive up made me a little barfy, but I held it in and did not get sick in the car.  I felt much better once I got out of the car and started checking things out.
I thought I was going to go on a ride through town, but my cart had no motor!

The place we were visiting was really, really pretty and it had LOTS of stinky stuff around.
  I was in pupper heaven!
I offered to get dinner, but my mom said NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
In my imagination, I got to go on a cruise around the lake.

It was one of the best weekends EVER!
Hope I don't have to wait forever to do it again.
Hint, Hint, Mom.

Single White Westie Seeks Administrative Assistant

I am taking matters into my own paws, puppers.
I MUST get a new assistant.
The old one mom! just isn't cutting it anymore.
I keep thinking we are making a comeback but then POOF we disappear again.
I am OVER IT.
Calling all typers, if you need a job please message me.
I am easy to work for, only a little bit high maintenance and the tiniest bit demanding at walk time.

Happy Birthday, Pop!

A big shout out today to my Pop in Texas.

I sure wish I could come see you for your birthday, but "they" won't let me get on a plane.

Wishing you a day full of treats from here!

I'm baaaaaack!

My parents went on vacation without me, which I thought was terribly rude.

I had to go spend some time  in jail at camp, my favorite place in the universe while they were gone.

When they got back I of course immediately stole mom's phone and started checking out her photos.  I find this to be the best way to figure out what they did while I was locked up.

Check it out --- they went to a place that let dogs hang out on the patio WITHOUT ME.

I can just hear it now ... "Oh, look, they let dogs eat here too.  We should take a picture so our dog will know that there was an opportunity here that we did not allow him to have!"

Next up on the photo album -- a picture of a dog whose parents actually care enough about him to let him come and eat on the patio with them.

Mr. Golden and I could have had a grand old time together while our parents were having lunch IF ONLY I HAD BEEN THERE!!!!

I was wronged, puppers.  I was wronged!!!

Dang. They did it again.

Oh, look.  Not a cloud in the sky.  Seems like a great day for ALL of us to go for a hike!
Excellent!  Water for me, water for my parents!!
Hey look ... dogs are allowed on this trail.
SO WHY AM I NOT HERE?????????

So what if this one says dogs aren't allowed.  Take the other fork in the road, people!!!!

OK, OK, I guess I feel a little bit better if horses are not allowed either.
But still, I can't believe  you left without me Mom!!!

I have Royal connections myself ...

OK, it is totally fitting that we can't get this photo to load the right way up.
Geesh, it has been a couple of weeks around here.

So, work with me, puppers, and imagine that picture is the right way up.
Or read this post upside down.
Whatever works.

Please note that I have mail from London.  AIR mail even.

Yes, I am royally connected!

If the new baby was a puppy, it would be me.

Or a version of me.

Westies are the IT dog in London, don't you know.

And I got a royal package too. Or a package from my Aunty K and Aunty S that came from London.  Coming from London makes it royal automatically, right?

Hey .. this tissue paper smells British!

These British boxes are face biters!!!!

I got a bus, an entire bus!!!
Hey ... I thought British buses were red ???

Yep, call me Royally Connected.

And now I am off to search for a gift for my new royal cousin.

Perhaps a silver spoon??
