Dear Mom

Dear Mom,

You may travel any time you want to as long as you go and see friends (thank you Aunty Sharon!) who give you toys to bring back to me.

Love,

Little D

Dear Duncan,

Thank you for your note. Yes, I do faithfully read your blog.

Please do not act like you can tell me what to do and what not to do.

People will think you are in charge here.

I know you do not realize it, but MOM is in charge.

If you don't believe me, ask your dad.

All together now .... "Mom is the boss. Mom is the boss. Mom is the boss."

Your loving mother

A tragic situation

Not the picture you were expecting, huh?

I've been cheated on.

I knew it the minute they walked in the door.

I smelled it.

Somebody else.

But this?

I mean, really. Take a good look at the picture.

They left me home alone for almost an entire day for THAT ????

Tragic, I tell you.

Tragic.

Gonna be doing some gardening!

Well it's a wonder I've survived this long! They have been trying to kill me! I have been here for WEEKS now and they finally looked up poisonous plants. Practically everything on our patio could kill me!
Dad's reaction: "If it makes him sick he will quit eating it."

Mom's reaction:
"OHMYGODHEHASANOTHERLEAFINHISMOUTHGETITOUTSTOPHIMSTOPHIMREMOVEALLTHE PLANTSNOWNOWNOWNOWNOW!"

Mom won.

Looks like we're going all roses this weekend!

Sign me,

Little D happy to be alive

p.s. here is a link to a great list of poisonous plants for all you dog parents out there:

Also over the weekend

When mom saw me with dad's shoes I heard her say a bad word. Under her breath I heard her say "payback is hell."

I told you dad was at the Sonoma Film Festival this weekend right?

Without her.

What price beauty

Oh, what we Westie's do to keep up our handsome good looks.

Case in point ... I, wild Westie pup, actually settled down enough to let my Mom trim the hair off my ear.

Remember how my ear was down. Well that won't do for a Westie. Won't do at all.

Mom has (obviously!) never attended beauty school of any kind, thus the chop chop chop look on the ear.

Lord, I hope this works cuz I am suffering some indignity right now.

Sign me,

Little D thanking heaven I have not gotten all my shots and thus don't get out much!

Over the weekend ...

Hi all,

Did you miss me?

I was veeeeery busy "helping" over the weekend.
Mom said it took about twenty four times longer than usual (she exagerates) to clean the patio, but with my help, we got 'er done!
I'm still exhausted.

While Dad is gone ...

What do Mom and I do when dad is gone?

EAT DONUTS!!!!!!!

Yahooooo!!!!!

I think she was really just gearing me up (as if I really need any help with my energy level) for all the chores we are gonna try to tackle while dad is gone. With the man of the house being absent, I'll need to step up to the plate and really help her out you know.

I'll check back in over the weekend if I can, but it may be Monday before the chore mama lets me get back to blogging!

Sign me,

Little D

P.S. Thanks for the donut Charmaine!

Happy Friday Everybody!

Happy Friday everybody! I don't know about you, but my plan is to grab my cup around 5 o'clock and start having Happy Hour on the patio!

My dad is out of town this weekend so I am guessing mom and I are gonna have lots of fun doing all the things we can't do when he is around. (JUNK FOOD!)

Chicks dig me!

What can I say?

It started at an early age.

Do you recognize that photo in the frame? It's the same one as my profile picture on the blog. It was taken the day I came home to my people family.
Yes, folks, it started that very day.

All the girls fancy me.
Life is good.

A brother?

This is what has my dad thinking we might need another westie in the house ....

Editorial note ... there was a You Tube video here of two westies playing tag. I think that I may have embedded it wrong and that may be why it's taking so long to load the blog today. Guess I have more technical stuff to figure out. Woof.

I think NOT.

While I was grounded ....

We're not sure what happenned.

My ear collapsed.

I mean really, how does that happen?

We Westies are all about the ears.

Sigh.

What do I do now?

A note from Duncan's mom

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Duncan's mom. I love him dearly.

Does anybody besides me notice something missing in the above picture?

Duncan will be grounded and not able to blog until I find my other shoe.

My dad and I are in this together.

Last night my dad went out with some guy friends he used to work with. Mom got a little anxious when he was gone longer than she was expecting.

I did my best to distract her by nipping at her toes and pooping on the carpet, but it was all to no avail.

When my dad finally got home 4 hours later, he said he had been out doing some "cathartic drinking."

The only thing I heard in our house this morning was mom saying "I'm off to do some cathartic shopping."

Happy Birthday to one of my favorites!

Everybody needs a favorite aunt.

Webster defines (*) "favorite aunt" as that person who lets you break the rules. ALL of the rules.

Aunty Karen is this aunt for me.

And thinking about it ... my mom is (or at least thinks she is) the favorite aunt of her nieces and nephews. By the transitive property of something, this means she lets them break all the rules, right?

So how come she lets them break all the rules but she gets so mad when my aunts come to see me and let me break all the rules?

BUSTED.

What are PRIORITIES????

I am only a couple of months old and it is a pretty big word, so help me out here. What are PRIORITIES??? All day long today my mom was using her computer to help my dad make a business card. I kept yapping and she kept saying "You are not my PRIORITY right now."

I yapped louder.

I howled.

All to no avail.

Finally, I surrendered and took a nap.

As far as I am concerned, it's all about me, 24/7.

Isn't that the way it's supposed to be for us Westies?

Sign me,

Duncan who would blog more but mom needs the computer

Well hello everybody!

Duncan here. I am the new dog on the block and I am a Westie. No need to say more about my personality than that, huh? I'm a little pup but I can already tell that writing and adventures are in my genes so I figured this was as good a place as any to tell you all about it. Stay tuned because I'll be writing again when I am finished with my little puppy nap!
