Waiting up for Santa

So last night I practiced waiting up for Santa.

Failed miserably.

I think it is pretty safe to say that if he comes to my house after 9pm, I'm gonna miss The Jolly One.

Note to Santa in case I miss you:  I've been GOOD!

Holiday Gift Guide: Dogs are the New Kids

In my case, I am the only kid in the house.  But if there were a two footed wee one to hang out with me, I can TOTALLY see us matching in the winter time.

Just picture it ... Duncan the little man in the stroller with me, Duncan the dogger, riding in the cargo spot on the bottom.  OK, I know, they probably would not name the baby after me, but you get my point. We'd be crusing, and we'd be cute!

Click on the word "source" underneath the picture to get these goodies from Beantown Handmade for your pupper and Baruchs Lullaby for your two-footer.

Holiday Card Bloopers: Fountain Head

Holiday Card Photography 101:  Make sure there is not a fountain coming out of the top of your head.

Geesh, Mom.

No wonder it took 287 attempts to get a good one ....

Holiday Gift Guide: Another option for the non-comittal

Well, we try not to repeat ourselves around here, but we found another option for those who can't commit to the real thing that we thought we should share.  Yesterday's find was "green" and somewhat contemporary.  Today's find will suite the more traditional types a little better ...

These cute puppers are from Restoration Hardware's Baby and Child store.

Here's a few of the details:

  • Small Dachshund: 16¾"W x 3½"D x 8¼"H

  • Medium Jack Russell Terrier: 17"W x 4"D x 10½"H

  • Large Retriever: 22¾"W x 5¼"D x 15¼"H

  • Don't you think they need to add a Westie to the line??

Holiday Gift Guide: For the dog lovers who can't commit

    Source

OK, we all know them.  They say they work too much ... they're never home.  Or, they live in an apartment and can't have a pooch.  Maggie and Oatmeal from Olive & Cocoa are PERFECT POOCHES for ones who can't commit.

These pups are hand made with recycled newspaper fur, and Maggie the Labrador measures 11 x 8.5 x 17" while Oatmeal the Cavachon comes in at a fluffy 13 x 9 x 13."

    Adorable, yes??

Holiday Shopping Guide: For the Wine Lover

    Well, Happy Monday, everybody.

Guess you can tell by the topic of this blog post what we did all weekend, right?

Mom says her motto for the new year is gonna be "Life is short, drink more wine."

With that thought in mind, allow us to share with you a few gift ideas for the dog loving wine drinkers in your lives:

Starting at the top of the bottle, we're loving the idea of a stopper.  There's tons of them out there, but we liked this one from Arbor Hill a whole lot.

    Source

Moving on the the bottom of the glass, we think these wine charms we found on Etsy are pretty fun, and they are a great price point for what my mom likes to call "girlfriend gifts."

And, for the whole shebang, why not get them a membership to a wine club that benefits shelters and rescues.  If you want to take it all the way, you can even customize the label!  Check it out at dogloverswineclub.com

Holiday Shopping Guide: Ten Gifts for the Wee Ones

Today's gift guide includes TEN, yes TEN gifts for the dog loving wee ones on your list.  As always, click on the word "source" under each item to go get one for yourself.

For the tiniest of them all, those still in a crib or the ones planning for them, we LOVE this mobile.  Nothing like teaching them to love us puppers from the beginning, you know!  They call it the "fetching mobile."  Get it?????

    Source
Next up, a toy Mom said is a classic and no child should go without:
Yep, they're still making this one!
    Source
Coming in at number three on our list, this hand made stuffed dog toy is so cute it would have made Good Dog Design if we'd have been having it in December.  Your wee one is gonna LOVE all this color!!

    Source

Next up , for the Fashionista wee ones ... check out this great outfit!  Click on the word "source" under the photo for more great styles from Oliver Blu Designs on Etsy.  We LOVE this store!!!

    Source
Another piece we love on etsy is this great print:  I am pretty sure the dog's name could be Doodle!

    source
Need a comfy place to sit your caboodle?  You know what is gonna happen with this one, don't you?  You're gonna find the wee one AND the dog all hunkered down here!

    Source
And, of course, if you'd rather they all lie down together, the wee one and the pupper, there is this option:

    Source
Did someone say STOCKING STUFFER?  Check out these great bathtub toys.  They come with magic ink dirt that disappears in the bathwater and reappears as the toy dries.  We're loving these squirters ... anything to motivate the wee one into the tub, right???

    Source
Coming in at number 9 another goodie we'd have featured in Good Dog Design if we were having it this month.  Check out this super cute backpack!

    Source
Coming in a number TEN and a bit more commercial looking than we typically go for, allow us to link you to Furreal's GO GO My Walking Pup.  From my White Dog perspective, I say, go for the real thing.  But, if that is not an option, this seems to be a good fake, if you will.

We probably would have skipped this one, but my mom saw TWO kids going absolutely BONKERS for it in Target the other day.  It was one of those " but Mom, I reeeeeeeeaaaalllllyyyyyyy waaaaaaaaaant one" moments.  I swear, the poor child appeared to not be able to live without it.  So, here you go!

Holiday Guide: Dog Themed Holiday Cards

Listen, puppers.  In this day and age people really appreciate getting a real holiday card.  You know, paws on the paper instead of paws on the keyboard.  With that in mind, and because we are in the mood to be GOOD so we are gonna send "real" cards out this year, we thought we would show you a few of the ones we considered.  You can find all of these on etsy and by clicking on the word "Source" underneath each photo:
