Take a look at this comparison ...

Oh, geesh. These long holiday weekends always get mom going. She insists that we take the extra weekend time to look at old pictures. Normally, dad and I are bored to tears. But look what we came up with this time!!!! Look how I've grown!!!!

Handsome then and handsome now.

That's the way it works for us puppers.

That's the way it works for us!

Dear Mom,

Dear Mom,

No offense, but this is what YOU look like when YOU are "helping."

Love you, mean it, don't ever change :)

What helping really looks like around here ....

Hi All,

Duncan's Mom here. I know that D likes to take alot of credit for what goes on here at the White Dog Blog and all, so I thought I'd show you a little behind the scenes shot.

This is Duncan "helping."

He is so busy "helping" right now that he does not even know that I am sitting here typing this about him.

Oh, yeah, we probably wouldn't be here without him ....

Right.

Sign me,

Mom

Oh, these ears ...

Remember how when I was just a wee little pup and my ears didn't do quite right?

How when they both went up one went back down the next day???

Well, for me, it's always something with these ears.

It now appears that after getting chomped on at camp a few weeks back, I am gonna be permanently disfigured.

Yep, got a big old hole up top.

OK, it's not that big, but it feels big to moi.

Learning to live with imperfection again puppers.

I think you humans call it "growing up."

You tell me ...

OK, pupppers.

This one is kind of a good news/bad news situation.

On the one hand, our sign does not have a big red circle through it ... dogs are allowed!!!

On the other hand, how come it's OUR sign that got defaced???

I mean, really, horses are so much bigger and much more capable of fending for themselves, yes??

Picnic action shots!!!

So I got to chase (fake, of course) squirrels at the Westie Picnic. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!

Here is how it goes:

First, you line up. The line was long; we westies LOVE this stuff and we all wanted to try it.

Next, you gotta get your dad to set you up. Have I mentioned lately that I have the best dad EVER???? He set me up sooooooo good!

Next, when that sucker starts moving you RUN LIKE CRAZY. At last, the chance to RUN, RUN, RUN and get cheered on instead of yelled at!!!!

Then you cross the finish line and everybody cheers like crazy.

Just a note that in my case, I liked the cheering so much I came back out through that hole in the hay and did a victory lap back up to the starting line. Everybody really got a laugh out of that part :)

At the end, you get a MEDAL. A real, live, GOLD MEDAL. It was so great mom made my dad take a picture of me with it.

And, yes, I was wearing it when I did my "victory lap" mentioned above.

All in all, fabulous puppers.

Fabulous, and I highly recommend everybody attending the picnics available in your area.

WHAT A BLAST!!!!!

Until next time,

D

WHAT a party!!!!

Well, I guess it is obvious that we went to the Westie Picnik this weekend once you see that picture up there. Let me tell you something, puppers. There were dogs like me everywhere. That picture up there is only the middle section of the group picture. Really. LOTS of ME dogs running around. I even got confused on which one was me a couple of times.

A few highlights:

BEST DESSERT

MOST GORGEOUS PUPPY

CUTEST NON-WESTIE

A good time was had by all. We'll be blogging some action shots tomorrow.

You're gonna wanna stay tuned, puppers.

Stay tuned!

A NO NO FRIDAY video

NO NO FRIDAY REVIEW

Well, we passed the 275 posts mark this week.

You know, whoop whoop and all that.

Sadly, as we reviewed our posts, I discovered that ALOT of them were NO NO FRIDAYS.

If you click on that link up there, you'll get a little video of some of our favorites.

Yep, mom thought I'd grow out of it, but I have not.

My penalty for having not???? Now we are broadcasting a video history of my mismaneuverings. Holy cow, what if I go viral????

Maybe by the time we hit 365 posts I can move on so there's not another widely broadcast video ???

Then again, maybe not :)

One of those days

Ever had "one of those days? as the humans like to call them?

Seems I am in the throes of one today.

Just can't get the paws on the keyboard.

Just can't do it today .....

Old Dog, New Trick

Well, you know how it works ...

I got so tired of hearing my mom say "I sure wish you could just do that for yourself" (followed by that long sigh that only a mama can drag on for that long) that I finally just went ahead and did it myself.

Yep, hopped on into the tub and helped myself to a drink of water.

Hopped right out, soaking wet, and made my mom wish she had never uttered those words.

Yep, got her right back to doing everything for me.

Whoop, whoop!

Mother's Day

Well, hello there puppers!

I can't even begin to tell you what a big weekend we had for Mother's Day around here.

First, I tried to write a poem.

It went something like this:

Our house is filled with drama.

We blame it on my mama.

You can see why I aborted my attempt at poetry, right?

Dad and I didn't think that (although we all know it's true) Mom would appreciate that one and we couldn't come up with anything better.

Not a poet ... already know it.

Anywoof, I did the next best thing.

I let her brush me.

Then I put on a tie.

I figured the whole tie thing was gonna work in my favor.

Gonna make getting brushed, which I HATE, worth it.

I figured, heck, I am so good looking now they are for sure gonna take me out to the mall or something and let me strut my stuff.

NOT.

They went out without me.

WITHOUT ME.

Go figure.

I almost pee'd by the back door after they left.

Figured I'd really show them.

But it being mother's day and all, I gave them a break.

Gotta love me, puppers.

Gotta love me!

And another thing ....

In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely train him to be semihuman. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog.

Me, being sultry

Well, hello there, sexy. Over the weekend my mom and I had a photo shoot. It was all about softness, romance, and, ohhhh, I can't even carry on that way!!!

Softness and romance in a WESTIE???? Are you KIDDING????

The reality is, we were doing housekeeping and while changing the bed I curled up in the comforter that was tossed on the floor.

Leave it to me to find a way to lounge while the real work is being done!!!!!
