NO NO FRIDAY

Heads up, puppers.

When your mama has made a rare attempt at being frugal and minding the family budget by checking out a book from the library rather than buying it the minute it hits the stands ... DON'T EAT THE BOOK.

Apparently said consumption results in a fine which might actually be higher than the cost of going out and buying the book in the first place.

You mean to tell me the library doesn't get a volume discount???

Anywoof, stay away from the loaners, puppers.  Stay away from the loaners.

And another thing ....

If you are a dog and your owner suggests you wear a sweater ... suggest that he wear a tail.

The thing about cats and dogs

So while my mom and dad were out to dinner last night, I perused a few pawticularly interesting websites.  One of the ones I found is called HUNCH and they had an infographic about cat people vs. dog people which I, personally, found riveting.

Here is how they them very selves describe how they gathered the info:

"Hunch correlations are the result of millions of answers to Teach Hunch About You (THAY) questions. They’re based on hard numbers supplied by a diverse group of people all over the world. If they confirm a stereotype, don’t shoot the messenger or our infographical friends at Column Five Media. Point your finger (or cursor) at the thousands of Hunch users who teach us what THAYs say."

And here is some of the interesting info they came up with about the humans who love us barkers and hissers meowers:

For starters, 62% of households own a pet here in the good old USA.  There are 86M dogs owned and 78M cats owned.  Right off the bat, the dogs take it!  Woot woot ... more puppers.

DOG people are slightly more likely to be male and cat people are slightly more likely to be women.

DOG people are 24% more likely to have kids.

DOG people are 15% more likely to be extroverts.

DOG people are more likely to live in North or South America whereas CAT people are more likely to live in Europe or Oceana.  And before you all start asking me the question in the comments section, I don't know where Oceana is.  I am a dog -- we don't do maps.  And, rumor has it my mom got a D in 4th grade geography and Dad would tell you things never got better from there.

Moving on to the more interesting stuff ...

DOG people are 18% more likely to consider Paul McCartney their favorite Beatle, whereas CAT people are 25% more likely to consider George Harrison their favorite Beatle.

DOG people are 23% more likely to be iphone users and CAT people are 7% more likely to be Android users.

DOG people are more likely to watch American Idol whereas CAT people are more likely to be watching CSI or Damages.

And, just to be fair, those with both cats and dogs tend to be female suburbanites between the ages of 35 and 49 who consider themselves politically middle of the road and are described as original and unique.

Don't shoot the messenger.  As HUNCH says, you can fight like cats and dogs in the comments section if you wish.

Now in the store puppers ... what a great box sign this one is.  I especially love the part about how ROAD TRIPS ARE AN ADVENTURE.  We're big road trippers around here what with having that convertible and all.  You know how my dad and I love to cruise for chicks around town feeling all sporty and such.
