Dang. They did it again.

Oh, look.  Not a cloud in the sky.  Seems like a great day for ALL of us to go for a hike!
Excellent!  Water for me, water for my parents!!
Hey look ... dogs are allowed on this trail.
SO WHY AM I NOT HERE?????????

So what if this one says dogs aren't allowed.  Take the other fork in the road, people!!!!

OK, OK, I guess I feel a little bit better if horses are not allowed either.
But still, I can't believe  you left without me Mom!!!

I have Royal connections myself ...

OK, it is totally fitting that we can't get this photo to load the right way up.
Geesh, it has been a couple of weeks around here.

So, work with me, puppers, and imagine that picture is the right way up.
Or read this post upside down.
Whatever works.

Please note that I have mail from London.  AIR mail even.

Yes, I am royally connected!

If the new baby was a puppy, it would be me.

Or a version of me.

Westies are the IT dog in London, don't you know.

And I got a royal package too. Or a package from my Aunty K and Aunty S that came from London.  Coming from London makes it royal automatically, right?

Hey .. this tissue paper smells British!

These British boxes are face biters!!!!

I got a bus, an entire bus!!!
Hey ... I thought British buses were red ???

Yep, call me Royally Connected.

And now I am off to search for a gift for my new royal cousin.

Perhaps a silver spoon??

This is still one of my favorite expressions .. got treats?
Thanks for allowing me to indulge today.
Feeling a little nostalgic.
Happy Weekend, puppers.
Happy Weekend!

An unusual adventure ...

In a rare turn of events, I actually got to have lunch with my mom and dad the other day.

It seems hunger got the best of them and they lost their minds decided it was time to give me another chance at dining out with them in public.

I have to say, it started off really well.

It ended badly, but it started off well.

For about the first two twenty minutes, I was able to keep my eye on the prize (getting out more) and totally minded my manners.

My manners were so impressive I actually impressed my self.

But then I saw him.

He was sitting in her lap and giving me the eye.

I tried in vain to ignore his fuzzy little butt.

But, alas, I was overcome.

Or rather, I TOTALLY LOST IT.

And that was that.

And I will be eating at home, alone, for the rest of my life.

Or at least until my pawrents are overcome by hunger to the point of losing their better judgement again.

I do have to say, it was nice while it lasted!!!!

A blueberry up my nose

It started with realizing these lovelies on the patio needed to be harvested.

Don't worry mom, I will take care of it for you.

I am just going to jump right up into the pot and harvest all these blueberries for you.
Wait, I don't have any way to carry them.
I guess I will maybe just shake them off and spray them all over the place.
Total fun!!!

In the end, Mom helped and some actually made it into the bowl.
Can you believe how many blueberries there were.
It took me a million hours to harvest all of these!

And, in dad's dreams, they turned into these muffins.
Don't hold your breath dad!
She is not in one of her Martha Stewart moods.
We're sunk.

No blueberries were harmed in the writing of this post.

And, no, I did not end up with a blueberry up my nose.  That is just what mom said to me when I jumped into the pot with the plant to start my harvesting.

It went something like "get out get out oh my gosh get out of that pot or you are going to end up with a blueberry up your nose ..."

I think you get the picture.

Here's hoping the muffins become a reality one day.

I'll keep you posted.

No, I did not get to go swimming

Allow me to introduce Lexie, the dog who actually did get to swim.  I found this picture on mom's phone.  Hmmmm.

A travesty has taken place, puppers.

My mom said she would get out my pool and take me swimming and she did not.

As I told my Aunty K, I believe that over promising is illegal in some states.

To which Aunty K replied or how I heard it was "Well, if you were MY dog, you would be swimming in  a triple size pool all of your own shaded by an umbrella with a frosty tropical treat awaiting you when you were done swimming."

Aunty K, my bags are packed.

I am on my way.

You got any money?

The lady at the airlines said I needed money.

Anybody?

Help?

A flashback to this time last year ....

We don't always post on Saturdays, but we were looking through some pictures on the laptop and saw this one from last year.  WOWZA, I can't believe I let her put those glasses on me!  You can hardly tell how much I hated it given how cute this picture is though.

Hope everybody's having a good weekend.  It is HOT HOT HOT here and I am hoping for some pool time a little later this afternoon.  I'll keep you posted.

Happy Fourth of July!!

Happy 4th of July everybody!

I am hoping for a parade or two so I can get lots of attention and hopefully some head scratching, maybe some bobbing for hot dogs because I am a big fan of holiday food and games, and a safe and sound place to hide when the fireworks start going off because by that point I hope to be too exhausted from a fun filled day to even attempt to be brave enough for all that kaboom zing zip bang bang boom stuff no matter how lovely it is.

Be safe and enjoy, puppers!

Fun in the sun ... NOT!

So this weekend it was HOT HOT HOT at our house.  Mom had the great idea to get out my pool but we did not get that far because an interloper landed on my patio.

I am as much a ball boy as any pupper, and probably even more so, but I have my limits.  This new beach ball dude wanted to go everywhere with me.  I couldn't hide!!!

And, yes, I know.  Imitation and flattery blah blah blah and all that.  But still ... there is only so much a pupper should have to take, yes?

All I can say is, I'm innocent.  It all happened so fast.  If you are crazy enough to land on a Westie's patio with some tube sticking out of you all exposed and everything knowing good and well that if anybody happened to accidentally chew on it or something it would, literally, suck the life out of you, then, oops, you shoulda thought of that when you glued yourself to my side, you shoulda done more research.

Here's hoping next weekend I actually get to go for a swim!
